Learning objectives:
The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second and third-party audits of environmental management systems against ISO 14001, in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021, as applicable. In detail, the training course will provide students with the basis to become a competent Lead Auditor,
Successful completion of the course (including examination) will result in the issue of a certificate which may be used to support an application to become registered as an IRCA auditor. Being certified as an IRCA auditor is a clear statement that you are a recognized, qualified and capable auditing professional.
Recommended prior knowledge:
The students are expected to know the concept of environmental sustainable development and to have an understanding of an initial review as the basis for establishing an environmental management system. Furthermore, awareness of environmental aspects with due consideration to emissions into air and water, consumption of energy, release onto land, use of raw materials and natural resources is also required.
Participants should have experience in the evaluation of activities, products and services in order to identify normal and abnormal conditions. A successful participation is supported by expertise in environmental law. It is recommended that participants attend an EMS Foundation Course in advance.
Group of participants:
Management system consultants, management involved in ISO 14001 implementation and maintenance, personnel working with regulatory authorities, personnel carrying out 1st, 2nd and 3rd party audits and all those who require a detailed knowledge of the EMS audit process. The number of participants is limited to max. 20 people.
