Description
This course aims to provide knowledge and skills of reinforced concrete analysis and design. The course takes into account the absence of a regional code of practice and the diversity of codes used by expatriate engineers. It therefore addresses the principles with the aim of preparing the participants to be able to adapt to new situations and different Standards. The course commences with a discussion of materials and loading conditions and the ideas behind load factors and limit states. The course develops into analysis and design of beams, slabs, columns and footings. The design takes care of the several aspects of flexure, axial loads, shear and bond as well as those of durability and serviceability of the structure.
Objective
Who should Attend
This workshop is specifically suited to practicing engineers, consultants, specifiers, architects, contractors and builders engaged in the civil and structural industries. It is also relevant to academics and researchers working in engineering areas that involve structural concrete.
