Description
In any process plant like refinery, petrochemical plant or power plant, the process equipments form the vital part of the installation. The success or failure of any of such process plants depends on whether the correct materials were used for manufacturing the process equipments. The materials must be suitable for the required process, the corrosive conditions, temperature considerations etc, and should last the expected design life. This should be achieved at the optimum cost keeping in view safety and reliability considerations and meeting the codes and standards for the materials.
This course explains the methodology and techniques to select the most appropriate construction material for various process equipments like pressure vessels, heat exchangers, process columns, piping etc. The course also covers practical guidelines in specifying the correct ASTM material specifications and selection of their correct equivalents in BS, JIS, DIN standards wherever material substitution is required
Objective
On completion of this course the trainee/s will be competent in:
Who should Attend
This course is ideally suited for process engineers, designers, technical managers, quality control persons, corrosion engineers and all those involved in materials selection and evaluation of materials for petroleum, petrochemical, power, and other process industries. The plant engineers, inspection and maintenance personnel related to pipelines, tanks, pressure vessels etc. will find this course quite valuable.
